Jihyoon Yoon
He is a visionary. He has achieved success in numerous international competitions highlighting environmental sustainability, maximizing limited space, and design aesthetics.
He is a traveler. Having traveled to five continents and over twenty countries, both with and without his pilot father, he immersed himself in unfamiliar places, connecting with locals and gaining new perspectives on himself.
At heart, he is an artist. Since childhood, his love for art has been evident. Even as a 10-year-old, he displayed his talent by crafting furniture and gadgets at home, earning recognition from public. His drawings are inspired by memories evoked through smell, taste, or touch. His artistic journey is driven by his quest to explore the connection between visual perception and personal interpretation.
Jihyoon is a professional architect and landscape architect who serves as a principal at D/O Architects and is the founder of JYOON studio. With 25 years of experience in art, architecture, and landscape architecture with reputable national design companies, he holds professional licenses in both fields-Architect and Landscape Architect. Additionally, Jihyoon is an artist member of NEMAA. He graduated from Korea National University of Arts and earned a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
